Kennywood August 10th?

Ok, when I left off on this thing called BEDA, which actually stands for Blog Every Day August, I wrote about how I was gonna get little to no sleep but I was gonna go to Kennywood. I ended up getting about an hour an a half sleep and then I texted Blaze to wake her up and she was awake because she actually never sleeps ever. So then we went up to the school and waited for the bus to leave, she took a picture of my back which had zikiri on it so "people from twitter would recognize me." and because for our senior shirt they made us all choose a nickname and I really don't have a nickname besides that. By the way, I don't actually know how to use quotes in textual form.

So then I was on the bus and I just rested my head against the window which was vibrating pretty consistently with the bumping of the bus and actually felt quite nice. But really I don't think it's medically safe to have a head moving at that pace for an hour. We got there and the Kennywood parking lot always feels like the hottest place after leaving a vehicle that is significantly cooled down through one method or another. We got into Kennywood, "America's Favorite Amusement Park", with our Girl Scout Day discounted tickets and as soon as we walked in, there it was, the ride I was dreading most, the skyrocket.

You would think with a name like Skyrocket, it would be like incredibly scary and terrible and like one of the top 5 american roller coasters or something. The most terrible part about it was that our map was ruined from the sprinkler system over the queue to keep people cool as they wait for the ride. The ride didn't actually seem that scary my first run through and I'm terrified of roller coasters. Maybe it was partially the fact that my head hurt a little from the bumping against the bus window, or maybe I just thought the harness seemed incredibly safe and nobody else seemed to be falling out during the upside parts of the ride. I didn't think it was very fun once I rode it, just a bit scary and mostly boring.

We went on to ride the two wooden roller coasters I actually faced my fears and rode years ago. They were a lot scarier with their old cars and old harnesses and old wooden tracks and supports. But I kinda enjoyed them just knowing I have before.

Then we rode the raging rapids. It's a ride where we just sit in a big innertube thing and go through a manmade river and everybody gets soaked with water with their clothes on, except for the people that wear bikinis or swim shorts or ponchos just for that ride which is lame. Getting soaked while in clothes is a big part of the appeal of the ride because I don't often have excuses for it. Right now it is pouring down rain outside my house, but it doesn't involve an amusement park ride, so I'm not gonna stand outside and get soaked. When i go to Kennywood and it's less crowded I will ride the raging rapids over and over just to make sure the waterfall doesn't miss a spot.

There was the pittsburg plunge, it is just one where you go up a hill go around a corner and plunge down into water and you can get a little wet.

But the ones we went on the most were the two big roller coaster. One of them was a big wooden one that was until recently one of the best in the world in some regard or something, and there was a steel roller coaster that was also the best in some regard also. We ended up riding each of those both in the front and in the back on seperate occasions to see how different the rides were depending on the seats. I hated the back because I have a fear of falling out backwards while going slowly up the hills. They were both really fast and my hair got thrown in my face and I got thrown out of my seat a few times and the wooden one the smaller person has to sit on the right because with the fast right turns the smaller person gets thrown to the left and so I guess it might be a whole different ride for people who can sit on the right and get thrown by the ride more.

There was the whip which was nice and whippy which was expected, it was a bit spooky because I had just read up on the person who died on the ride in 2002 and I kept wondering if it was in out car, especially since it was 13.

Then there was the volcano. Most of the people who read this blog have either gone on this ride or have n0ticed Blaze fangirling it for the past week. I really enjoyed this chill ride. At first i was a little worried because I thought there was some kind of hidden seatbelt that nobody told me about but then when I didn't fall out I realized gravity or whatever was my seatbelt and I just enjoyed it. It was just so nice and lovely and unexpectedly so. There is some video of it at Blaze's youtube which is Suchducks.

I can't really think of other rides but I am tired and I actually should go to sleep. I was gonna blog about Timequake and Cat's Cradle, which by the way I finished both of them. And I am like a chapter through Slaughterhouse Five and I only dislike that the chapters are so long compared to the other two Vonnegut books I read. I like to take breaks between chapters and it makes my chapter selections much more limited.
